Outdoor Kitchen Addition – Blending New with Old Stone Walls

A tricky part of almost any addition or renovation is making sure that the new, matches the old. For this outdoor kitchen addition, the customer had some beautiful existing Pennsylvania Thin stonewalls all around the back patio living area.

Since the customer also wanted to move quickly, they decided to use our outdoor modular kitchen cabinets. Our dealer, Southbury Stone, had supplied them the PA fieldstone stone from years ago, so we sent them a new truck of PA fieldstone and had a pallet cut into thin veneer. The contractor assembled the cabinets in 2 hours, and then added the thin veneer in 2.5 days. The end result – looks like it was part of the original plan. One week earlier the customer only had a grill – with this addition he added a trash pull out, high temp burner (for cooking lobsters!), and some extra storage. Lastly he topped it off with Bluestone counter-tops to to match existing stair treads and patio stones.
