Outdoor Fireplace + Outdoor TV = Ultimate Football Watching

I love lighting fires and watching football (go Jets!) in the Fall. When New England Silica sent me pictures of this outdoor living space I was immediately envious of the combination of television and outdoor fireplace

The project was constructed by Torrison Stone out of Durham, Connecticut.  Brian Murphy, the Landscape Architect, drove the project and shared: “The homeowners wanted a private, shady area to entertain.  The challenge was that this is on the side of their house, as there is no real backdoor because of the way the house is laid out.”

The privacy was obtained by extending the retaining wall above the patio, creating a ‘living room wall.’ An outdoor fireplace kit was used to center this wall, with PVC privacy walls on each side, that set a boundary, but still gave plenty of light.  Bluestone benches not only matched the patio and gave more seating area, but doubled as wood storage boxes.

Since there was no easy access to this side of the house, the customer wanted to make sure the Outdoor Kitchen had both running water and storage to limit the amount of trips in and out of the house.

With a fireplace, dining table, outdoor kitchen, and seating, this seems like an awesome way to take advantage of the outdoors during our shorter season in New England!

Hope you enjoyed this featured project, and I hope the homeowner enjoys a great weekend of football!
